GUN CONTROL FAILURE, AGAIN

Image
On February 23rd, we had yet another gun control failure. An example showing how many people in the US are unable to accept their responsibilities as an armed citizen. Unable to follow laws and regulations. Demonstrating once again the type of negligent behavior that places innocent members of our community at risk. TSA officers at the North Central West Virginia Airport confiscated a loaded revolver along with additional ammunition in a man's carry-on laptop case. The weapon was a Taurus 38 Special, snub-nose revolver. It was loaded with four rounds of ammunition. The laptop case also contained fifteen additional rounds loaded among three separate speed loaders. The report did not mention where the man was traveling to or which airline he was about to board. Nor did it indicate what his excuse was for having the firearm in his possession.  What mistakes did this man make that we all can benefit from by learning what not to do? What poor decisions did he make? What negl...

Consider The Source, Bad Habits In - Bad Habits Out

It seems that more and more women are following the same practice as many men. A greater number appear to be arming themselves for their personal protection. Many are also deciding to carry concealed. I'm all for it. Most women have been at a disadvantage when it comes to self-defense due to societal norms and attitudes. However, there is a noticeable problem. It appears that many women are following in the same footsteps as their male counterparts. Far too many have their head up their six when it comes to firearm responsibility. This fact is easily proven when you follow one particular phenomenon. TSA gun seizures at airport security checkpoints. On February 10th, 2023 a woman was escorting her child through a security checkpoint to catch a flight. I'm sure this was an important moment in the child's life. Flying alone, without their parent present can make a child feel grown up and responsible. A moment the mother would want to make sure that all things went according to...

Keep Your Day Job!

Image
Keep your day job. That's the advice I'd give NASCAR's award winning driver Kyle Busch. In late January of 2023, it was reported that Kyle and his wife were taking a few days vacation in Mexico. Kyle works hard for NASCAR and his family deserves it. I'm sure I speak for many when I say millions of us hope he enjoyed his down time. However, the trip back home to NC was not an enjoyable one. While navigating the security check point at the Cancun Int. Airport, officers discovered Kyle's .380 pistol, loaded with hollow point rounds in his carry-on bag. Although Kyle was taking a private flight, it remains unlawful to carry a firearm on an aircraft in Mexico, just as it is here in the US. It also turns out that in Mexico, it is unlawful to possess hollow point cartridges. The authorities there consider them to be exclusively for use by their armed forces. Luckily for Kyle and for us NASCAR fans in the US, the Mexican authorities allowed him to proceed with his flight a...
